Communities First

Communities First is a community focused programme that supports the Welsh Government’s tackling poverty agenda.

There are five Communities First areas in Swansea. These are known as Clusters. There are lots of activities going on in each Cluster and lots of ways that you can get involved. Activities are focused on Prosperous Communities (eg: Job Clubs) Learning Communities and Healthier Communities.

Lift programmeLIFT Programme –  This is a Welsh Government-backed scheme run by Communities First, which aims to help people living in Penderry and parts of Gendros to get into work and access work experience, apprenticeships and training.

To be eligible for support from the LIFT project you must be living in the Penderry (and parts of Gendros), from a workless household and been out of work for 6 months or more.

For further information on support available please contact Juliet Rees on 01792 578632 / 01792 586149 or email: Juliet.Rees@swansea.gov.uk.
