Business Broadband Funding

Depending on where your business is based, there are different ways of getting better broadband.

Firstly, you should check if you are able to receive superfast broadband. You can check this on the Superfast Cymru postcode checker.

Improving your business broadbandIf you are not yet able to receive superfast broadband or if you want to upgrade your business connection to an ultrafast service (>100Mbps downstream, >30Mbps upstream) then you may be able to get connected via our Access Broadband Cymru or Ultrafast Connectivity voucher schemes.

The schemes provide grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of new broadband connections for businesses in Wales. They do not include monthly rental costs.

New connections through this scheme must deliver a step change in speed – with at least double your current download speeds eg a current connection of 10Mbps must improve to at least 20Mbps.

There are three levels of funding available for businesses depending on the speed of the new connection:

  1. £400 Access Broadband Cymru voucher for 10Mbps and 20Mbps service
  2. £800 Access Broadband Cymru voucher for 30Mbps service
  3. up to £10,000 voucher for an ultrafast service. The 1st £3,000 of eligible costs are 100% funded by Welsh Government, between £3,000 and £17,000 is 50% funded, and above £17,000 no additional funding is provided.
